It acts like a shield for the wiring and the lamp ends. Instead of seeping into the electronics, the water just slides right off the case.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The one catch&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Now, there is a trade-off. When you add shields and coatings, you change how the heat moves. It saves the lamp from blowing out, but it does restrict the airflow a bit at the back of the unit.&#xA;Just make sure you give the heater enough breathing room on your ceiling. Follow our minimum clearance specs, and your mounting brackets won&amp;rsquo;t overheat.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The bottom line&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;We’ve seen a massive difference in how long these last in humid shops compared to those open-element lamps. You get something that can take a beating and still put out the heat you need.&#xA;Just wire it up, mount it high, and forget about it.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
