We build the Krones Contiform 1 infrared lamp as a direct-fit emitter, matched to the machine’s heating geometry. The quartz envelope gives you fast response with short-wave IR, so preforms come up to temperature quickly without scorching the surface. Specs are done to hit OEM tolerances: rated voltage, precise filament geometry, and an R7s connector that seats clean in the holder. Power density is tuned to the Contiform 1 tunnel layout, so the energy profile lands evenly across the preform neck and body.
Why it behaves this way
With stretch blow molding, repeatability is the real scoreboard. This lamp tightens the temperature spread across the preform, and that translates into fewer rejects and less time spent retuning. Fast ramp-up helps you hold cycle rates steady, and the quartz design keeps output consistent over long runs. In practice, that means less scrap, fewer lamp swaps, and predictable energy draw per bottle.
The practical details
Installation is straightforward, but alignment is the catch. The lamp has to sit square in the holder and follow the original reflector path; if it doesn’t, you’ll get hot spots and inconsistent heating. Handle it with gloves and keep the quartz clean—oils and dust shorten life and distort output. Plan replacements during scheduled maintenance windows so you don’t get caught by an unplanned stop.
