
On a running blow molding line, the heating tunnel is where you win or lose the shift. If preform temperature starts to drift, stretch becomes inconsistent, you start seeing crystallized spots, and scrap piles up fast. We built the R7s halogen heater lamp for PET preheat to stop that drift where it starts.
What matters, technically
The lamp uses short-wave infrared, so it responds quickly and gives you tight control right there in the heating tunnel. We match the R7s base and the quartz envelope to the OEM footprint, so it drops straight into Sidel, Krones, SIPA, Husky, SACMI, and Nissei ASB blow molders without any rework. Typical ratings cover 100–240V, and power density is matched to preform wall thickness. The energy profile stays repeatable shift after shift. The filament layout and reflector geometry are tuned to spread heat evenly across the preform body and neck, cutting down hot spots and cold zones that cause bursts or weak shoulders.
Why it holds up on the line
In stretch blow molding, the preform has to hit a repeatable temperature window before it meets the stretch rod and blow pin. Our R7s halogen lamps get preforms into that window fast, so you can hold cycle time without chasing setpoints. That means fewer rejects, less scrap resin, and output that behaves predictably. Energy use drops, too, because short-wave output heats on demand and cools quickly when the machine cycles—no more paying for idle heat sitting in the tunnel.
The practical details
Installation is straightforward. Just verify voltage, connector orientation, and mounting clearances before you swap. Quartz does its best work when the lamp stays clean and dry; heavy dust or condensation scatters output and throws off temperature uniformity. Plan replacements around scheduled stops, and keep spares on hand. If you run lamps beyond rated life, output drift goes up—and that drift shows up as bottle defects before you even spot it on the line.
