If you get a lamp that’s even slightly off in wattage or spectral output, your temperature curve shifts. That’s when the headaches start. Your PET preforms either don’t get enough heat—which means they won’t stretch right—or they get too hot, leaving you with that annoying pearlescence and thin walls. Nobody wants to deal with that. The secret is in the quartz The Sidel Matrix needs a very specific kind of short-wave infrared radiation to actually get through the PET wall. To make that happen, we use high-purity quartz glass. Cheap glass absorbs too much energy. It basically wastes heat by warming up the lamp itself instead of the plastic. We match the coating and filament density so the IR emission hits the same peaks as the original. That’s how we keep your temperature curve stable after the swap. Real-world installation These are true drop-in replacements. We use the same connector footprints, so you can just wire them up. No hacking the oven housing or “making it fit.” One quick tip, though. These lamps put out some intense heat. While the lamps are solid, your reflectors might not be. If your reflectors are dirty, they won’t bounce the heat into the preform. You’ll be tempted to crank up the power to compensate, but that’s a trap—it just burns out the filaments faster. Keep those reflectors clean and stick to the original voltage settings, and your lamps will last much longer.
