
Making Wet Zones Actually Warm
Nobody likes that shivering feeling when you step into a cold bathroom or changing area. You want to go from freezing to cozy in a few seconds, not wait twenty minutes for the air to warm up. That’s why we don’t bother with standard heaters that just blow warm air around. Instead, we use shortwave infrared (IR) lamps. Think of it like the sun. The heat doesn’t wait for the air to warm up; it hits your skin and the walls directly. You feel it immediately.
The Secret to That Instant Glow
To get that “luxury hotel” feeling the second you walk in, we use lamps with a lot of power packed into a small space. Because shortwave IR has a higher frequency, the warmth actually sinks deeper into your body. The moment you flip the switch, you’re warm. To make this work without the whole thing melting, we use quartz envelopes. They keep the internal heat where it needs to be while protecting the delicate filament inside.
Dealing with Steam and Splashes
Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. Between the steam and the occasional splash, a normal circuit would short out in no time. We wrap everything in IP-rated housings to keep the water out. We also use high-temp gaskets where the glass meets the frame—if those leak, you’ve got a problem. And since humidity loves to eat metal, we use special coatings on the reflectors so they don’t rust or fade. But here’s the tricky part: balancing the heat. If you cram too much power into a waterproof box, you risk melting your own seals or tripping the safety switch. It’s a bit of a balancing act.
Keeping it Simple (and Not Blinding)
We aren’t fans of complicated repairs. If a tube burns out, you shouldn’t have to tear the whole ceiling down. We use standard connectors, so it’s a simple “plug and play” swap. One downside to this kind of heat is the light. These lamps can be incredibly bright—almost blinding if you’re in a small room. To fix that, we use tinted glass or specific reflectors. This way, you get all the warmth without feeling like you’re staring into a spotlight.
