From the ceiling, most recessed infrared heaters look identical. They’re just a vent and some heat. If you find out your technician has to rip the entire chassis out of the ceiling just to swap one tube, you’ve got a problem. You bought the wrong hardware. Dealing with the heat Here’s the thing: recessed installations are basically heat traps. If you aren’t careful, the electronics just cook themselves. We use high-temp wiring and ventilated housings to keep things cool. But even then, those reflectors take a beating over time.
