Getting the Heat Right
If you want your oven to stay stable, it all comes down to the purity of the quartz and how the filament is tensioned. The heat hits your dough immediately instead of wasting energy heating up the tube itself. It makes the ramp-up time incredibly fast.
The Nitty-Gritty of the Gear
There’s a reason clear quartz is the go-to here. It doesn’t expand or contract violently when the temperature jumps. Try using a cheaper glass, and that first hit of steam will likely shatter the whole thing. We also obsess over the end cap seals. They have to be airtight. If even a little steam leaks inside, the filament oxidizes and snaps. Just like that, your oven is down. One big warning on installation: Quartz is weirdly sensitive to the oils on your skin. A Few Things to Watch Out For
These lamps give you the intense heat you need for a professional crust. But that power comes with a catch. Your oven housing needs to be able to handle that kind of thermal load. If your ventilation isn’t up to the task for the wattage you’re running, you might actually fry your own control boards. And please, use high-temp leads for the wiring.
