The “Pop” Factor
Here is the thing about glass. When it gets hot, it expands. When it gets cold, it shrinks. Imagine a tube running at 800°C. Now imagine a stray splash of cold shower water hitting it. That sudden temperature crash creates a massive amount of stress on the glass. With cheap quartz, that’s when you get the “pop”—the glass shatters, the bulb burns out, and you’ve suddenly got shards of glass and a potential electrical short in a wet room. The Nitty-Gritty

A Few Things to Keep in Mind
You’re going to love how fast these lamps heat up, but they do come with a catch. They pull a lot of power. If your wiring or breakers are old or under-rated, you’ll probably trip the breaker the moment you flip the switch. It’s a pain, but it’s better than the alternative. And a pro tip: use high-temp silicone wiring. Regular insulation can melt near the ends of the tubes, and nobody wants that. Just get the right wires, check your breakers, and you’re good to go.
